I wanna start a discussion about the latest news from Yahoo and their
policy in the Chinese internet market.

risks becoming an online policeman for China's communist government if it
keeps a promise to voluntarily investigate potentially subversive content,
a human rights group has warned."
I have no idea how good or bad, how legal or illegal the censorship off
the internet in China is. But I know that I would be glad if some stuff I
sometimes find in the internet would not be there.
Talking about spam emails, viruses and worms, racism, porn or illegal
stuff.
I dislike if some, maybe critics to a government would not be shown, but a
filter of bad influence stuff could not be so bad, as long as the filter
is made carefully and also offers a way to see the filtered stuff.
Yahoo is only a catalog, and I think it is a good idea to filter the
content of a web catalog. Also I like yahoo for its free email service,
knowing that us citizens need to pay for yahoo mail, in Germany its still
free and I think in China also.
We have for members on this list using yahoo email adresses so, I'm glad
that this service is available and it makes even less trouble than the
damn hotmail accounts which sometimes reject the list emails thinking it
is spam, coused by a bad configured filter :(
So what is your opinion on that? What experiences did you in China made
with filtered information through internet?
I would be glad reading some of your opinions here.
Coz most of you speak english I don't translate this email but giving you
